
Maggie and Stan can be seen at all sorts of pub sessions in and around Mid Suffolk. On the gig front it seems that, just at present, we are doing mainly private functions so the list looks a bit meagre, but here we go anyway!
| Every second Thursday of the month, 7.30-9.00pm: "Come and join the band" workshop. Since being forced to join Suffolk Folk, Maggie and Stan run a workshop for people who want to play traditional music. The workshop is basically a chance to play tunes really slowly, chat and problem solve. It is held in the back room of the Swan pub in Needham Market. Full details at http://www.suffolkfolk.co.uk. | Saturday, 24th April 2010: Maggie & Stan are doing a complete evening: 'Folk by Candlelight' at Hessett Village Hall starting at 7.30 pm. Tickets £7.50 from Les and Anne Ward (01359 270400). includes free glass of white wine and entry in the “Bottle Draw”. Bring your own liquid refreshments. Tripping Upstairs: Right; time for a Jig. This is one of the first I learnt and continues to be one of my favourites. A classic Melodeon tune and a great foot tapper at sessions too. Again I've written the tune out in very basic form, so you can add your own twiddly bits. Anyway I hope you have fun with the tune whatever you play it on.
