Is Garage and House music becoming more acceptable, that within recent years saw music's like Techno, Drum and Bass and Hard-core being the main musical staple diet.(If this does not apply to you do not answer!!) Or if you are an American (HipHop and Rock music being the musical staple diet of the masses) Please state your country, then give your answer!!! Here in the Uk the clubs are dominated by Speed Garage at the moment. 10.Who's' had the greatest influence on you within the World of Garage and House music? Artists such as Todd Terry, Masters at Work, Frankie Knuckles Or an Label or Sound.. Strictly Rhythm, Nervous, Nu-Groove, Eightball, Irma Records. 11.What do you think of other country involvement within the music of Garage and House music? Such as France (Shazz and ST. Germain), Germany ( Mousse T, Boris Dglulosch, Tonka) and England. Ricky Morrison, Norman Jay, Paul "trouble" Anderson, Karl "tuff enuff" Brown, etc )That was the domain of the Americans during the early 1990's. As a wise man once said "House is universal".... It is just a form of music, and any person that states "Only we can make this" is talking rubbish. The cultural influences from various countries is what keeps House Alive. 12.Who, if given the chance would you like to work with in the World of House and Garage music?Masters at Work, Don Carlos, Derrick Carter, Kerri Chandler, Grant Nelson, St Germain, 95 North?? The music has bulldozed its way into the Garage world, and is the newest hybrid of the music. Some people hate it . Some people love it. What are your views on the scene. Have you visited a Speed Garage venue yet? If so what did you think of it? There are so many various vibes within the "Speed" Garage scene. I personally don't like the big bassline and ragga influenced stuff, but there is some great music out there.
15.Probably in England, you are always thought of dearly whenever the song of "Together and God" single swhen they are dropped on the dancefloors. Are you proud of this single/s? Are you now sick to death of it. Has it led to A&M men thinking that you stay with that particular style or sound.Or has opened doors for you. It has become a sought of a classic, especially within England? How did the single come about? Was it a flash of inspiration? Or was it something that had been festering in your brain, in need of just sprucing up, so to speak!!!
Together was just a track we (Myself & Simon Firmin), Put together for an EP. We didn't think anything of it at the time, We felt the same way about GOD LIMITED when we made them. You can never tell what reaction a record is gonna get, I mean you can say if a record is gonna get played but as far as being an anthem goes... No chance, that sort of thing just happens. To be honest, no I'm not sick of it, I have recently started playing it in my sets which I never did B4 (I find it quite hard to play my own tracks), and it seems to get a good reaction where ever I play it. Opening doors, No not really, the project that done that for me was probably the Remix of Frankie Knuckles feat Adeva, "Walkin'".

16.There seems to be a love for GARAGE at the moment, that resembles the early days of Hiphop in the USA. Labels are being sought after, the pirates are canning the music. Underground clubs via word of mouth are becoming " Sought after places to visit". Is the bubble going to burst soon though do you think? Can Garage remain this Underground for that long? Will the majors move in, in a big way to take their share of the profits? I think the bass driven, sample studded, Speeded up tracks will soon find themselves in the POP section of HMV record stores, and with that it will die soon after. But the other (real) underground stuff will continue, although It will change it's face. 17.Are you head of your own label. If so, has it allowed you more artistic freedom then with being associated with a major?, Has it created more worries for you, in regards to making sure that others artists signed to you label are well looked after; and are themselves producing credible releases from your label. Artistic Freedom, yes, but I have always had that wherever really. I am signed to Virgin records and they (being a major) give me a free reign. We only take on people that are truly talented, so making sure that they make credible releases is not a concern. For us a record doesn't have to sell 6 thousand copies to be a success, We like the material we release and at the end of the day, we can look back and say "We are proud". ![]() Thanks for the Interview here Grant!!! No problems there mate!!! Anybody wanting to comment on this Interview Please get back to me!!!
