The Rotary Club of Saxmundham & District was formed in 1970 by The Rotary Club of Wood bridge. It’s first President being Dick Carley who was also the first Chairman of the Saxmundham Round Table.
The Club draws it’s members from Saxmundham and the surrounding areas with members from Leiston, Aldeburgh, Yoxford, Thorpeness. Kettleburgh, Peasenhall and Hatcheston.
The Club meets weekly, on Thursdays, 1st & 3rd is an evening meeting - 2nd 4th and 5th is a lunch meeting, at the Queens Head, High Street, Saxmundham. (Car Park at rear). Phone :- 01728-602856 The evening venue varies according to how the programme is organised.

The Club produces a monthly Bulletin entitled “Axle”
The Heritage Coast Walk/Run is the Club’s biggest fund raiser and takes place each year on the Sunday of the May Bank Holiday (2004 May 2nd)
