The Education Programme

The education programme at Old Fox House functions in a number of ways. We have tutors who come into the Clubhouse once a week, giving members an opportunity to further their Maths or English skills. In the evenings a number of members attend a Computer training course, to augment the "on the job" training that takes place during the work ordered day.

The education unit is also an integral part of our employment programme. When working towards a long term employment goal, gaining self confidence and recent work experience is often not enough to successfully obtain the required job. So the education programme exists along side the employment programme (TEP) in order that members have the support and encouragement to gain the neccessary qualifications for their chosen career.

The Administration Unit which administers the education programme holds information on all types of educational/vocational courses that are available. Many members have taken the opportunity to undertake a variety of courses varying from short vocational courses to full degrees.

The Clubhouse offers as much support as possible to enable members to gain qualifications, including help applying for courses and grants, use of Clubhouse computer equipment and perhaps on-site support during the early days of a course.
